Day 01     Arrive Chennai

Upon arrival at Chennai International airport, meet and assist by our office representative, followed by a transfer to your hotel for check-in. After some rest and depending on your arrival time, be introduced to the “Capital of the south” during an orientation tour. Explore the diverse neighborhoods and sense its role as a keeper of South Indian artistic and religious traditions... Pass through the excellent British-built Government Museum, the Roman style San Thome Basilica and the majestic colonial Fort St George.

Day 02   Chennai – Kanchipuram -Mahabalipuram
After breakfast visit to Kanchipuram  – it is the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks of Sari Weaving. Later transfer to Mahabalipuram, on arrival check in to the hotel. Day at leisure. Dinner & Overnight stay at Mahabalipuram.

Day 3 Mahabalipuram


Breakfast at residing hotel, visit stunning Shore temple set at the edge of the waves features an altar to the god Siva that is lit by the rising and setting sun. Go explore the Rock-cut caves. Mahabalipuram has become a center for stone carvers, and hundreds ply their trade in the streets and alleys of the old town. Visit the Five Rathas is a set of magnificent monolithic rock temples. These fine rock temples are located in a sandy compound.

Day 4 Mahabalipuram- Pondicherry   

Settled by the French in the 18th century, Pondicherry retains a quiet colonial atmosphere with wide shady streets lined with colorful stucco houses. An ongoing French presence in the town means that many local dishes are subtly fused with French ingredients and techniques.
Early evening take a stroll through the French boulevard with our Storyteller. Through reminiscence of almost a century-old European occupation, walk through the white town (as the French quarters is popularly known as) while our Storyteller relates the history with what you see around

Day 05 At Pondicherry

In the morning after your breakfast take a visit to Auroville and understand the unique community living here based on universal harmony. You will be taken through the visitors center and a few of the Auroville units which innovatively works on paper, textile, bamboo, and stones among others.
Enjoy Lunch at Solar kitchen - the community Kitchen for the inmates. See the Matri mandir (the meditation center) from outside.

Day 06 Pondicherry

Early morning enjoy a bicycle tour through the French district and the Tamil quarter with a Storyteller. Pass by the white town (as the French quarter is popularly known as) with its heritage colonial buildings, keep biking toward the Tamil quarter and learn the anecdotes of the distinctiveness of Franco-Tamil culture, creating a fusion of diversity in the air of Pondy. Return back to your hotel for your breakfast and check-out. Later head to the local spot Surguru to savor a south Indian vegetarian meal. You will then be invited to meet the adjacent colony of a silk weaver and discover the art of the Saree weaving, made out of their traditional wood machinery and tracing few generations. Arrive at Tanjore and check-in at your hotel for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07 Tanjore – Trichy


Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Drive to Trichy, we visit Srirangam Temple, The most important pilgrim center in the district is located on an island just 7 km from Tiruchirappalli. Srirangam, surrounded by the waters of the River Kaveri on one side and its tributary the River Kollidam on the other, is a 600-acre island-town enclosed within the seven walls of the gigantic Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple. This is the seat of the pontiff of the Vaishnavite, who are the worshippers of Lord Vishnu

We drive to visit Rock Fort Tiruchi's most famed landmark is an 83m high rock which is the only outcrop in the otherwise flat land of the City. The most amazing fact about the rock is that it is one of the oldest in the world - approximately 3,800 million years, which makes it as old as the rocks of green land and older than the Himalayas
Atop the rock is the Uchipillaiyar Koil, a temple dedicated to Lord Vinayaka from where we can enjoy a panoramic view of Tiruchi. Dinner & overnight stay at Trichy.

Day 08 Trichy – Madurai

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Drive south to another vibrant city of Tamil Nadu, Madurai. Upon arrival check-in at your hotel. After some rest, Later take a visit to the temple and attend the night ceremony when the temple bronze of Lord Shiva is carried to the bedchamber of Parvati. Return to your hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 09 at Madurai

 After breakfast,  proceed for  Madurai Visit to Thirumalai Nayak Palace is a 17th-century palace erected in 1636 AD by King Thirumalai Nayak, a king of Madurai's Nayaka dynasty who ruled Madurai from 1623–59, in the city of Madurai

There are four entrances to this amazing temple complex set in six hectares. some of the stone pillars in the complex with any hard object and feel incredible on hearing sweet metal sounds. It is known as musical pillars. The total number of pillars in the temple is a staggering one thousand. Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel

Day 10 Madurai – Thekkady

Check out from the hotel after breakfast and drive to Periyar. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival.
In the afternoon, a boat ride on the lake is the usual way of touring the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Boat cruises make the best option to check out the wilds of Periyar Sanctuary.

Although it is unusual to see many animals from the boats, still you spot a family of Elephants, Wild Boar, and Sambar Deer by the water's edge. The upper deck is best for wildlife viewing when taking a boat cruise, but better turn up half an hour early to get the best seat. To maximize your chances, take the 7.00 am boat. You can also consider renting your own boat. Dinner and overnight stay are at the Hotel.

Day 11 At Thekkady

 In the morning after breakfast from the hotel and proceed for the Spice plantation tour, this exotic land reminds of a colorful impressionistic painting stirred to life as if by a miracle. Thekkady’s fantabulous landscape is diffused with exotic spice plantations, green carpets of endless tea gardens and lush tropical forests. Garbed in vibrant hues and bountiful gifts of nature, Thekkady offers a perfect romantic escapade into the soothing laps of Mother Nature. In the evening go for Kalaripayattu show, return back to hotel, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12 Thekkady – Munnar

Proceed to Munnar, Munnar – “Nature lovers paradise” drive through the picturesque countryside of Munnar, a popular getaway retreat. Surrounded by lush green tea estates, this picturesque hill station boasts of exotic flora and fauna. On arrival check into your hotel.

Day 13 At Munnar

Visit Tea museum:- The museum set up at the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea in Munnar The Tata Tea Museum diligently portrays the growth of Munnar tea estates, veritably conveyed through some of the displays like the Rudimentary tea roller to the modern fully automated tea factory.

Day 14 Munnar – Cochin

Breakfast & drive to Cochin, On arrival check in to the hotel. Afternoon visits the St. Francis Church considered the first European Church in India, built-in 1562 by St. Francis; this is India’s oldest European-built church. Continue on to Mattanchery Dutch Palace (closed on Friday & Public holiday), a double-storied palace.

Proceed to the Jewish Synagogue (closed on Saturdays), which was constructed in 1568 and is the oldest in the commonwealth. While driving along the coastline, at the Harbour's mouth, one can also view the unique and still-in-use "Chinese Fishing Nets" which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th Century

In the evening you will witness Kathakali Dance Show, India's most spectacular Dance Drama based on stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. The dancers are elaborately made up of paint and masks, accompanied by drummers and musicians. We reach the theatre early to get a chance to see the dancers getting ready for the show and their faces being painted. Return to Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay is at the Hotel

 Day 15 Cochin – Alleppey

After breakfast, we drive to Alleppey. Embark the Houseboat on arrival for an overnight backwater cruise. The boat cruise takes you to small islets & you get glimpses of village at the best of its serenity and innocence. Watch village girls picking mussels or laundering clothes or pots on the small ponds in front of their house, while men folk are busy plucking coconuts, dates from the trees

Day 16 Alleppey – Kumarakom

After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake and is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favorite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Egrets, darters, herons, teals, waterfowls, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian Stork visit here in flocks and are a fascinate the visitors. (Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel)

Day 17 Kumarakom – Varkala

After breakfast drive to Varkala. Wake up to the tunes of birds. Breakfast on board. Disembark at 9 am after breakfast and leave for Varkala. Varkala is the only place in southern Kerala where these tertiary sedimentary formation cliffs are a unique geological feature, on the otherwise flat Kerala coast; these are known among geologists as Varkala Formation and declared as a geological monument by the Geological Survey of India.

Day 18 Varkala – Kovalam

After breakfast and drive to Thiruvananthapuram is the capital of Kerala. A long shoreline, with internationally renowned beaches, historic monuments, backwater stretches, and a rich cultural heritage make it a much sought after tourist destination.

Padmanabha Swamy Temple: Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple is a blend of the Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. It is known for its mural paintings and stone carvings. One among the 108 sacred Vishnu temples in India, the presiding deity in here is Lord Vishnu reclining on Anantha the Serpent Kuthiramalika (Puthenmalika) Palace Museum

Sree Chithra Art Gallery: Located near the Napier Museum, this art gallery displays select paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, Svetlova and Nicholas Roerich and exquisite works from the Rajput, Mughal and Tanjore schools of art in India. The collection also includes paintings from China, Japan, Tibet, and Bali. On arrival check in to the hotel.  Dinner & Overnight stay in Kovalam
